Anne Hathaway: “When My Brother Came Out, We Hugged Him, Said We Loved Him, and That was That”

Celebrities have ways of making money that the rest of us don’t have. For example, when Anne Hathaway married Adam Shulman in September 2012, they were able to make money by selling their wedding photographs. The money they made will go to non-profit charities advocating for same-sex marriage, as well as to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research, and The Girl Effect. Ms. Hathaway has a gay brother. She said, “In my household, being gay was, and is, no big deal. When my brother came out, we hugged him, said we loved him, and that was that.”
