BETTER DAYS
By Manda Marble
I used to think of yesterday, cause what else could I do?
When all my dreams of happiness, they centered around you.
But now your gone and time stands still,
nothing to bring back those old thrills.
I lie asleep and dream of better days.
I used to think on confidence cause that’s the way you go,
When all your life you see so very clearly through lost souls.
But now the light is growing dim, and I am all alone again,
I lie asleep and dream of better days.
Now listen to the wind of change
you may not know it well.
But when it blows you’ll feel the cold of darkness setting in.
The tales been told, we all grow old
the seed we plant, the Earth will sow.
I lie asleep and dream
i lie asleep and dream
I lie asleep and dream
Of better days.

KILBY STREET
By Manda Marble
Cold, romantic September night
makes the world seem far away.
When I have no one to hold me tight,
makes my mind start spinning cold.
all the world seems far away
when home is not the next city.
but desert air and cloudless skies
all lead me down the path I chose.
(Chorus)
Now I find I’m not alone
At Kilby Street it felt like home.
The kids – they danced, they laughed, they cried
I sat alone to feel the night.
My eyes turn to the midnight sky.
Full moon above, nothing here hides.
I feel the emptiness. I feel ready.
The same moon shines on my city.
Driving through the desert air.
I drive all night, in darkness clear.
Shadows cross my path ahead.
I stop to rest my weary head.
(Chorus)
Now I find I’m not alone
At Kilby Street it felt like home.
The kids – they danced, they laughed, they cried
I sat alone to feel the night.
Deep, deep blue and desert grey
Doesn’t take my blues away.
I reminisce on distant dreams.
And feel the stillness of the cold.
(Chorus)
Now I find I’m not alone
At Kilby Street it felt like home.
The kids – they danced, they laughed, they cried
I sat alone to feel the night.
