NOTE: Julia Morgan (1872-1957) designed over 700 buildings during her career. She worked on the Hearst Castle, and in 2014 she posthumously became the first woman to win the AIA gold medal, which the national American Institute of Architects Board of Directors confers “in recognition of a significant body of work of lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture.”
