Dante’s Inferno, Canto 15: BRUNETTO LATINI

Engraver: Auguste Doré

Make book infertile?

Do so by writing for fame,

Not to tell the truth

NOTE: Brunetto Latini wrote for fame. Now he is a footnote in books about Dante. When Dante writes THE DIVINE COMEDY, he must tell the truth if he wishes his book to be fertile.
