Dante’s Inferno, Canto 19: corruption

Who buys church offices?

People who see an investment

Not good-deed doers

NOTE: Do we want a Pope who has bought his way to be Pope? No. Such a person would use his power to do corrupt deeds such as advance his own family at the expense of the people he ought to be serving.
