Devils like to fight

Devil finds excuse to fight

Devils fall in pitch

The devil Calcabrina realizes that the grafter is attempting to escape, but he allows the grafter to attempt the escape. Calcabrina wants the grafter to dive back into the boiling pitch so that Calcabrina can blame another devil — Alichin — and fight him. The grafter escapes, the devils fight, and the devils also fall into the boiling pitch.
